Lee Schornoz from Fribourg lives in the Helvetian capital, Berne, gets up early every day and just minds his own business. Nic Stage Amp Production has been his artistic platform since 1992. This year he plays together with Blues Horror Brigade and Clochard Deluxe.
He doesn't call himself the boss and he doesn't have anything to say either except: "People who talk all the time, can't hear what my music sounds like". It's important to Lee that people who hear his music also feel the hellish vibes of his guitar and his voice. A typical "evil genius"? I'm the kind of guy who turns negative tension into bitter medicine", he says, while holding one of his secret fluid CDs up in front of the person he's talking to and whispering: "Once in the morning, once before going to bed…." How many female fans do you have as a matter of interest? "Yes, they're important to me too", says Lee. Perhaps it was the case that he started composing and playing 20 years ago because he wanted to impress the opposite sex? Perhaps he tried with music because he was so lousy at sports? Right up to the end of his sporting career, his skis were made of wood, but with his jazz and blues knife, he's carved songs made of pure gold. ….
Rock, funk, jazz, big band sound, pop, trip hop, experimental, singer/songwriter. We've seen it all already - and so has Lee. Now there's nothing left except his bands, Expander and King Louis.
